At the request of Prince Maurice and the States-General of Holland, the Synod of Dordt convened from November 13, 1618 through May 9, 1619. Judgment was to be passed upon Arminian controversy that plagued Christendom. The Synod of Dordt defended the gospel of salvation by sovereign grace alone in an hour when the gospel was under attack by the subtlest form of the lie that had ever assailed it. That lie was the teaching that the salvation of the sinner depends upon the sinner's own will. The names below are the men who defended, in the light of the Scripture, the Doctrines of Grace and rejected the errors of Jacobus Arminius as set forth in the Canons of Dordt.
I wonder how would the Divines of Dordt think of the slidings of the Churches today ??
